Alarming medical error statistics

Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) recently came across the findings presented in the Research Highlights of a study on “Patient Safety in Primary Care”. This study was conducted by the Ministry of Health (MoH) in 12 of their primary care clinics in 4 states in Malaysia.

The Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) is shocked and disappointed by the Melaka River pollution which has caused the death of thousands of fish due to poisoning in the river recently.

Malaysians must reduce sugar intake by 80%

November 14 is World Diabetes Day. On this occasion, the Consumers Association of Penang calls on consumers to reduce their sugar intake by as much as 80% to curb diabetes which is increasing at an alarming rate in Malaysia.

Mobile phones should carry cancer warnings

brain-cancer-risks-colourManufacturers should put labels on phones and packaging warning of the potential for brain cancer associated with electromagnetic radiation. The warnings should also warn that the most vulnerable users like children and pregnant women keep the devices away from their head and body.
