REFUSE Disposable Plastics

Refusing unnecessary plastic where possible will decrease plastic pollution on nature, wildlife and human health.
A survey showed that 74% of consumers are willing to pay for more sustainable packaging.
Shifting consumer preference s can encourage FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) companies and retailers to rethink the plastic system and offer more sustainable alternatives.
Examples of what you can do:
> Refuse unnecessary packaging – buy ‘naked’/unpackaged goods
> Refuse a disposable cup from a coffeeshop; use your own mug instead!
> Ask for other materials.
> Refuse single use non-essential plastic items, such as plastic straws and heavily wrapped snacks.
> Request zero plastic packaging when ordering online.
Businesses can play their part by refusing to produce single-use plastics and non-recycled plastics.
