The Consumers’ Association of Penang (CAP) is officially joining the movement for #refusesingleuseday!
On 6 January 2026, we join others in declaring that the era of throwaway culture must end. At CAP, we lead by example – bringing our meals in stainless steel tiffin boxes, mugs, and carriers instead of single-use plastics. Every small choice adds up, showing that protecting our environment can start with simple, everyday actions.
But this requires more than willpower – it requires funding.
We are calling on governments and investors too to stop subsidizing single-use production systems and prioritize building the reuse infrastructure our planet desperately needs.
