CAP’s Energy-Saving Efforts in Selected Schools in Penang
In 2025, CAP initiated energy-saving programmes in twelve schools and one civil society organisation across the state of Penang. The primary objectives of the project were to raise awareness among the target groups regarding climate change, highlight the importance of energy conservation and efficiency in mitigating its impact, and encourage proactive efforts to reduce energy usage.
Schools were selected as the main target for intervention due to their significant potential for energy saving. Each participating school undertook a range of activities to lower their energy consumption by implementing various energy-saving and efficiency measures as part of the initiative.
All participants in the project worked collectively to reduce energy consumption through the adoption of energy saving and efficiency practices.
The project yielded encouraging results, generating awareness on climate change and promoting environmentally friendly practices in daily life among not only students, but also their families and communities at large.
CAP’s energy-saving project in schools serves as a model for energy conservation nationwide, preparing today’s students to become tomorrow’s champions of sustainability.
