Bees are tiny heroes. Do you know: The honeybee is responsible for nearly a third of crop pollination (a wide range of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and oilseeds). They also produce 6 hive products — pollen, honey, beeswax, royal jelly, propolis, and venom. These are all collected and used for nutritional and medical purposes by humans.

Bee populations have been declining globally over recent decades due to habitat loss, intensive farming practices, changes in weather patterns and the excessive use of agrochemicals such as pesticides. This in turn poses a threat to a variety of plants critical to human well-being and livelihoods.
These hardworking insects do an amazing job for humans, and nature as a whole. Let’s help them thrive: Plant more flowers, shrubs and trees; avoid chemical sprays on your plants and yard; let the grass grow – this gives bees and other pollinators shelter and a place to feed.
Saving bees saves the world – and ourselves.
