Obesity – having too much body fat – is an international scourge today. It isn’t just a cosmetic concern, it’s a medical problem that increases the risk of many other diseases and health problems like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, liver disease, sleep apnea and certain cancers.
How to lose unwanted weight in a healthy way and prevent obesity? Studies have shown that increased physical activity and improvements in fitness levels can reduce the risk of obesity-related health conditions and deaths.
Find time to engage in physical activity at home, in school, at your workplace and in your community. Try to get at least 60 minutes of physical activity per day for children and 150 minutes per week for adults.
