HOW TO TELL IF YOUR EGGS ARE FRESH

Use this simple water test to find out if the eggs in your pantry are still good to eat.

Fill a glass container with cold water and gently place the eggs inside.

1. If the egg sinks to the bottom and lays flat on its side, it is very fresh.
2. If the egg stays at the bottom but the fat end of the egg rises slightly, it is about 2 weeks old.
3. If the egg stays at the bottom but stands on its small end, it’s about 3 weeks old and going bad.
4. If the egg floats and bobs on the surface of the water, it is no longer fresh and should be thrown away.
