MARIGOLDS – NATURAL & BENEFICIAL PEST CONTROL

Marigolds are beneficial companion plants that can reduce damage to vegetables and plants caused by certain pests.

Marigolds help to control nematodes, tiny worms that are usually microscopic in size. Nematodes feed on plants by puncturing plant roots to obtain nutrients. This can seriously damage or even kill crops – even turf, and ornamental plants.

Marigold flowers also attract beneficial insects that not only pollinate, but also help in controlling unwanted pests. Beneficial insects attracted to marigolds include: hover flies, lady bugs and parasitic wasps.

For non-chemical, ecologically sound pest management, try planting marigolds between the vegetables you grow. These pretty flowers beautify your garden too!
