STRAWBERRIES – Rich in Nutrients that Protect Health

Recent research highlights that strawberries may play a beneficial role in improving insulin sensitivity, a key factor in managing chronic conditions like Type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

In a 12-week randomised trial, adults with prediabetes who ate 2.5 servings of strawberries daily showed notable improvements in insulin resistance and overall heart and metabolic health.

Similarly, another study revealed that polyphenols found in strawberries, and also cranberries, significantly boosted insulin sensitivity in overweight and obese individuals without diabetes.

These findings suggest that strawberries – rich in antioxidants and plant-based compounds – can positively impact metabolic function.
